Dr. Cook was born and raised in Raleigh. She is a double graduate of the University of North Carolina, where she received both her Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Prior to becoming a dentist, Dr. Cook spent time living and traveling in many different countries. She first realized her passion for working with her hands while apprenticing in a pottery shop in Switzerland, where she developed her eye for perfection and many of the artistic skills that she now applies to her career as a dentist! She later worked as an assistant in a pediatric dental office while living in Argentina, where she learned to speak Spanish.
During her time at UNC, Dr. Cook launched a free dental clinic, for which she received numerous local and national awards to honor her efforts and dedication to service. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at the UNC School of Dentistry, where she instructs dental students at the volunteer clinic she established.
Dr. Cook loves all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry and enjoys treating the entire family. She understands that every patient is unique, and she focuses on providing a nurturing environment, listening to her patients’ concerns, and working with them to develop a personalized plan that’s tailored to their needs. She strives to deliver gentle care, and to make dental treatment as comfortable as possible for all of her patients.
Outside of the office, Dr. Cook lives in Chapel Hill with her husband Austin, who is a resident physician at Duke. They enjoy going on adventures together with their mischievous Australian shepherd, Pepper!
